Mydin commemorated its 60th anniversary with a week-long celebration beginning Aug 17.
As Suria was the official radio station for the celebration, Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin, managing director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings, chatted with Shahrol Shiro, Zulin Aziz and Fizi Ali on Suria Pagi (weekdays, 5am to 10am) on Aug 18.
“Mydin is one of the biggest brands in Malaysia and we at Suria are honoured to be chosen as the official radio station for Mydin’s 60th anniversary. I hope this friendship and co-operation will continue on in the future,” said Suria assistant programme manager Roslinda Abd Majid.
Suria presented a cake and sang Happy Birthday to representatives from the local hypermarket chain. Suria announcers also shared information related to Mydin’s 60th anniversary throughout the day.
Suria announcers Suraya and Tyzo were at the launch of Mydin’s celebration at Mydin USJ to take in the sights and sounds of the event and interact with Abang Brian’s show Menu Suria (weekdays, 10am to 1pm).
In conjunction with Mydin’s 60th anniversary and the country’s 60th Merdeka, Suria launched a contest. To take part, just take a selfie with Mydin’s 60 anniversary logo with the Malaysian flag at any Mydin outlet and include a caption stating what you love about Malaysia.
The photo needs to be uploaded on Instagram with hashtags #SuriaMalaysia and #Mydin60Tahun.
