Local director to cast Hollywood actress in Dirty Money

Malaysian director Dhyan Vimal is currently developing Dirty Money, a RM30mil film which he will collaborate with studios in Hollywood. The movie is set to star Tron: Legacy actress Serinda Swan in the lead role.

“This story is about a girl looking to avenge the death of a loved one. As she goes deeper into her investigation, she discovers this suspicious money trail linked to the death and decides to follow it,” Dhyan said during an interview in Kuala Lumpur.

He added: “We’re waiting for the project to get the greenlight. We plan to start shooting in New York.” The movie will also be shot in India and Malaysia.

Dhyan will be travelling to Los Angeles next month to meet with Hollywood production companies to partner up for the movie.

“I’ve had the idea for this movie about three years ago. I’ve been developing it for a year now and hopefully we’ll get to see it soon,” he said, describing the movie as a psychological thriller.

Dhyan, 52, has previously done commercials and documentaries. He makes his debut as a feature film director with Temuan Takdir, a crime drama starring Zahim Albakri, Vanidah Imran and Azura Zainal, which is set to open in cinemas nationwide on Aug 11.
