The 7th Annual Columbia Fashion Week is bringing the season's hottest trends to the Midlands and our Natalie Parsons will be strutting in Saturday's big finale showcase.

In this week's "Hometown Hotspot," WACH FOX tells you about some looks taking the runway.

Fashionistas around the Midlands can rejoice because Columbia Fashion Week is finally here!

Styled By Naida is one of 23 designers taking the runway at Saturday's finale showcase.

"We provide apparel donations for women in need. We provide free business clothes for college students and if someone's in need of personal styling we provide those services as well," says Naida Rutherford.

Rutherford also know as the "Queen of Thrift" has a style all her own: fun, bright, quirky and always ready to try something new.

She says her fashion sense came from her upbringing in the foster care system.

"I didn't have the fancy department store to go to or have someone to help me figure out and so I used thrifts stores as a way to try new trends without having to spend a ton of money," she says.

Now she works to make a difference in the lives of others.

For every sale made at her store, a dollar goes into a scholarship fund for single moms so they can continue their education.

Besides Naida, Columbia Fashion Week will feature a newcomer and fresh out of college designer named Tamaria Craig.

She heard about the Columbia Fashion Week and always wanted to be a part of it.

During her senior year at Savannah College of Art and Design, Craig put together a collection showing off a "Modern Western Cowboy and Native American" theme with a classic every day uniqueness.

"White shirt but dress it up with different colorful buttons, some leather, pig skins, suede and denim," she says.

The collection took about a year to complete including 10-weeks of researching ideas, designs and looking up fabrics.

"I'm looking forward to actually having my garments going down the runway for the first time, showcasing it and seeing people's reaction," adds the designer.

So grab your highest heels, most outrageously colorful outfit and strike a pose.
