Just in case there weren't enough dad sneakers in your life, DSquared2 is upping the ante on the unexpected trend. For their Milan Men's Fashion Week show on June 19, the brand decided to combine the dad sneaker with a wedged heel and the result is, well... interesting.
The shoes in question boast a wedge heel and three front straps. They are made of a rainbow of hues, boasting bright blue, red, yellow, and green, along with—of course—a signature white chunky sole adored by dad sneaker-lovers around the globe.
Of course, social media immediately had a field day with the new shoes. Some fans pointed out the resemblance of these wedges to not only any dad sneakers but Balenciaga’s colorful version specifically. One user writes, “I totally got Balenciaga vibes from this,” adding, “after the Croc crossover and these sneakers, I just thought it was natural progression.” Others have remarked more upon the shoe’s shear height and walkability, over the actual retro-inspired style, tweeting, “Can’t do it bro 😂😂 I can feel my ankle breaking already.” More have been creating hysterical comparisons to kids’ action toys and some just want to get their hands on a pair. “I love these Idk why 😩😭🔥," one person wrote. “I want these so badly right now!” another added.

Alongside the heels, DSquared2 also debuted a more traditional version of the dad sneaker that are sure to be seen all over the street style photos come fall. The brand has dubbed the wedges “The Giant Heels,” while the sneakers are simply called “The Giant.”
