Rapper Altimet has declared that after his 40th birthday on Nov 27, he no longer wants to appear in public as a performer or release any new material.

Before his self-imposed exile, the 39-year-old will release two more albums with the first being six-track Air.

This album is proof that Altimet is not planning to exit without a bang. Air is a brilliant album with songs reflecting on his own journey as an artiste.

Opening track Mambang is a fiery diss track to a certain someone about his/her frustrating lack of progress in the music scene. Fans had a field day interpreting the words to the song and believing that he wrote Mambang for former Too Phat member Malique. However, Altimet has explained in a lengthy Twitter thread that Mambang is actually an introspective number inspired by himself.

On the personal Muda, the rapper gets sentimental, offering bits on childhood memories and reminiscing about his youth. Then he raises hell with traditional music-infused Bunga, a scathing yet catchy social commentary number similar to his previous release Amboi. Here, he wants you to know that you should stay clear of a debt-ridden lifestyle.

With Air, Altimet proves that he has all the right flow. It’s too bad that we have to say goodbye soon.
