5 TV shows coming to Malaysia in March

The busy-ness of the festive season is gradually subsiding, which means, you have time to binge-watch again! Here are five shows we’re most excited about this March:

Fire Of Eternal Love

The gorgeous Dilraba Dilmurat has three men chasing after her, or more accurately, her character Ru Ge, in this 52-episode Chinese series. The first, a man cursed with unrequited love; the second, a man who lost his ability to hear and walk after a harrowing experience when he was a child; and thirdly, her first love, a cocky man who broke her heart. Who will she end up with? Vic Zhou, Vin Zhang and Ruilin Liu co-star.

Fire Of Eternal Love premieres March 2 on dimsum.

Jessica Jones Season Two

After more than two years since its debut in November 2015, it’s about time the second season of Jessica Jones returned. From the looks of the trailer, the new season will likely explore how the bada** private investigator got her powers. What’s even more interesting, David Tennant is reprising his role as villain Kilgrave, who died in Season One. Starring Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Jessica Jones Season Two premieres March 8 on Netflix.

Krypton

After exploring the narrative of Superman’s cousin, Supergirl, in the 2015 series of the same name, this 10-episode series aims to uncover the story of another Kryptonian, Superman’s grandfather. Set 200 years before the birth of Superman in the planet Krypton, granddad Seg-El must restore the House of El’s name and honour after the family was falsely shamed. At the same time, young adult Seg-El must fight off DC Comics’ villains like Brainiac. Starring Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell and Ian McElhinney.

Krypton premieres March 22 at 9pm on Warner TV (Astro Ch 719/unifi TV Ch 613).

Santa Clarita Diet Season Two

Santa Clarita Diet brings a lightheartedness to the zombie genre and it looks like there’ll be more of that in the second season. Suburban housewife Sheila Hammond, who finds herself turning into a zombie one day (in Season One), will try to uncover what caused the zombie virus and stop it from spreading. Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant.

Santa Clarita Diet Season Two premieres March 23 on Netflix.

Santa Clarita Diet Season 2

Trust

Just months after All The Money In The World hit cinemas, comes another retelling of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III. This time, it’s in the form of 10-episode TV series, Trust. Inspired by a true story, Trust is about the extremely rich yet cheapskate oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty. In 1973, the billionaire’s grandson John Paul Getty III got kidnapped by Italian gangsters in Rome. What’s shocking is despite the elder Getty’s riches, he refused to pay the US$17mil ransom. All The Money In The World was quite compelling but, owing to its limited running time, it never really explored how the elder Getty got to be so cheapskate. Perhaps, in this long form format, we’ll get to discover the character’s motivations more. What’s more, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is directing all 10 episode! Starring Brendan Fraser, Harris Dickinson and Michael Esper.

Trust premieres March 26 at 10pm on FX HD (Astro Ch 726).
