This year, Suria turns 10 and the popular radio channel channel is celebrating with a fun-filled anniversary concert at Darulaman Park in Jitra, Kedah on Dec 16.
Those going to the concert can expect performances by rocker Datuk Awie, singers Tomok and Black Hanafiah, rock bands Azlan & The Typewriter, Bunkface as well as girl group De’ Fam. There will also be performances by Menahan Rindu singer Wany Hasrita and Ku Rela Dibenci crooner Aiman Tino.
Suria presenters have special performances planned for the event. DJ Lin of the much talked-about Suria Cinta segment shared that the presenters have been rehearsing for the concert’s opening segment.
“We want to do something different so we’ve prepared a dance segment for the crowd. We’ve been doing rehearsals every night for the past two weeks with De’ Fam member Cik Manggis,” DJ Lin said.
There will also be song performances by popular presenters Zulin Aziz and Tyzo. Fans will get the chance to win exciting prizes and goodies from Suria and main sponsor BDB Land at the event.
Exciting Plans In 2018
In March, Suria announced its plans to become a one-stop digital entertainment platform and be more than just a radio channel. The Suria website now offers original content like parody videos, travelogues, live music showcases and most recently, a web series about ghost stories.
A new look for the website will be unveiled at the concert on Saturday.
The 10th anniversary concert is Suria’s way of saying thank you to its loyal listeners as the station moves into the new year.
DJ Lin who is also Suria programming manager shared that in 2018, fans can expect an announcement about upcoming content and new line-up.
“There will be more exciting developments coming up from Suria in 2018 as we’re going to introduce new announcers and other surprises,” DJ Lin said.
