Where are the cast of ‘Dynasty’ now?

Did you know the 1980s soap opera Dynasty now has a reboot out on Netflix? The 2017 series of the same name features a fresh line-up of cast members. Before you sink your teeth into the reboot, here’s a look back at the original cast and where they’ve been since the show ended.

John Forsythe Dynasty

John Forsythe (Blake Carrington)

Forsythe, who played the stern billionaire oil tycoon Blake Carrington, had an illustrious acting career even before Dynasty, notably for voicing the unseen boss Charlie Townsend in the iconic 1970s crime series Charlie’s Angels. After Dynasty, Forsythe starred in the short-lived 1992 sitcom The Powers That Be. His last acting work was on TV special Dynasty Reunion: Catfights & Caviar in 2006. In 2010, Forsythe died from pneumonia at 92.

Joan Collins (Alexis Carrington Colby)

Who can forget the not-to-be-messed-with Alexis? After her turn as Blake’s strong-willed ex-wife, Collins guest starred in various TV shows such as The Nanny, Rules Of Engagement. Most recently, the 84-year-old actress had a recurring role on The Royals and led the cast of road comedy film The Time Of Their Lives. She also followed in her late sister’s Jackie Collins footsteps, writing six romance novels. On the personal front, Collins, who had been divorced four times when Dynasty ended, found love again, remarrying in 2002.

Linda Evans (Krystle Carrington)

After Dynasty, Evans, who played Blake’s warm, caring new wife Krystle – who was often at war with Alexis – appeared in only a handful of TV movies before retiring from acting in 1997. She opened a chain of fitness centres, Linda Evans Fitness Centre. Evans was in a relationship with new age musician Yanni from 1989 to 1998.

Jack Coleman (Steven Carrington)

Coleman, who was the second actor to play Blake’s son Steven Carrington, went on to carve an illustrious acting career on TV. He is best known for his lead role as Noah Bennet in the 2006 hit series, Heroes. He also had recurring roles on The Office, Castle, Burn Notice and Scandal. He married actress Beth Touissaint in 1996 and has a daughter.

Heather Locklear (Sammy Jo Dean Carrington)

Locklear got her start as an actress on Dynasty as Krystal’s niece Sammy who marries Steven for his money. Locklear went on to star on another long-running soap, Melrose Place (1993), which earned her four Best Actress nominations at the Golden Globes. Her following stint on Spin City (1999) earned her another two Best Actress Golden Globe nominations. She recently guest starred in an episode of sitcom Fresh Off The Boat. Locklear’s first marriage to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee ended in 1993. She married Bon Jovi’s guitarist Richie Sambora the following year and gave birth to her daughter in 1997. The couple divorced in 2007.
