Two new South Korean dramas are available on dimsum’s Oh!K channel.
The Rebel is a period drama about the eventful life of famous Korean historical figure Hong Gil-dong, who championed the rights of the people. The iconic folk hero was also dubbed the Robin Hood of Korea, as he stole from the rich and gave to the poor.
Radiant Office is a workplace drama about office politics, unemployment, and the struggle of everyday life.
The Rebel
Also known as The Thief Who Stole The People, The Rebel follows the journey of the titular character Hong Gil-dong, who was the first revolutionist and dissident activist in Joseon.
Set during the reign of famous tyrant King Yeonsangun (Kim Ji-suk), Gil-dong (Yoon Kyun-sang) is the son of a slave, who also has superhuman strength. In order to protect him, his father Hong Ah Mo-gae (Kim Sang-joong) advised Gil-dong to hide his power to avoid attracting attention to the family. Little did his father know that Gil-dong was destined to be the leader of bandits who steal from the rich to give to the poor, even going against the tyrant King himself.
Radiant Office
This romantic series revolves around the tumultuous life of Eun Ho-won (Go Ah-sung), a 28-year-old woman who struggles to find a steady job.
Driven to desperation, she attempts suicide, and gets admitted to a hospital, where she learns that she might be terminally ill. At the same time, she finally succeeds in getting hired as a contractual employee.
Faced with the possibility of dying, she decides to live her life without regrets.
She tackles her job and life with a new perspective and bold attitude, but that puts her at odds with her workaholic manager Woo Jin (Ha Seok-jin).
