Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ is one cool cat

The Black Panther trailer just demands your attention, doesn’t it?

The Marvel Studios’ upcoming film is set in a (secret) technologically-advanced African nation named Wakanda where ships fly and heroes are aplenty. The nation is also in possession of advanced weapons thanks to the meteoric ore vibranium.

T’Challa trains with Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan).

But as glimpsed in the trailer, the story also explores a man’s strengths and flaws at his most animalistic level.

Prince T’Challa (aka Black Panther, portrayed by Chadwick Boseman) was first seen in Captain America: Civil War when he teamed up with Iron Man in the civil war, in his quest to avenge his father’s death.

In this film, T’Challa returns home to Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy – that would be Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) – reappears, T’Challa’s roles as king and the Black Panther are truly tested.

Long live the chief!

Ryan Coogler directs with an impressive cast that includes Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.
