Get ready to start following the pack and hum those white winter hymnals next January, when acclaimed indie band Fleet Foxes brings its brand of dreamy folk rock to Kuala Lumpur for the very first time.
Presented by Upfront Arena, the band will be playing at KL Live on Jan 16, 2018, 7pm.
Comprising Robin Pecknold, Skyler Skjelset, Casey Wescott, Christian Wargo and Morgan Henderson – who all contribute vocals and play multiple instruments – Fleet Foxes first shot into the limelight with its 2008 eponymous debut album.
Containing hit singles like White Winter Hymnal, He Doesn’t Know Why and Your Protector, the album was hailed as one of the best albums of the year by the likes of Rolling Stone and Q magazines and online music site Pitchfork. It peaked at No. 3 on the British album charts.
Its 2011 second album, Helplessness Blues, was equally well-received. It peaked at No. 4 on the US Billboard Top 200 album chart, and was even nominated for the Best Folk Album at the Grammy Award in 2012.
Fleet Foxes recently released its third album, Crack-Up, which debuted at No. 9 on the US Billboard top 200 album chart in June. Coming six years after Helplessness Blues, all eleven of the songs on the album were written by Pecknold, and sees Fleet Foxes experimenting and pushing the boundaries of its music even more.
Tickets for Upfront Presents: Fleet Foxes Live in Malaysia are priced at RM190 (early bird), RM230, and RM250, and are currently on sale at Ticketpro.
Upfront is a concert series that offers Malaysian music fans a chance to catch some of the best live acts from around the world. Previous concerts under the series include Foals and Eland Oye. Before the Fleet Foxes show, the next concert in the series will be British soul collective Jungle on Nov 18.
