One of the most highly-anticipated events for Kollywood fans in Malaysia is the release of Tamil movie Mersal, directed by Atlee. The film stars distinguished actor Vijay in three roles!
The movie will be extra special for both Vijay and two-time Oscar winner AR Rahman as both are celebrating 25 years in the industry. The film is also the 100th production from TSR Films.
With Rahman as the musical director, expectations for the soundtrack are just as high. The composer’s voice will be featured on the album, which includes artistes like Kailash Kher and Sathya Prakash.
An audio launch that was held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, India on Aug 20 was also live streamed for fans in Malaysia. The Malaysian Vijay Fans and Rahmaniac Malaysia fan clubs collaborated to organise the screening.
The two groups selected 280 fans through a Facebook contest to attend the event at TSR cinemas in Shah Alam.
At the screening, Vijay expressed his appreciation to his director, and spoke about keeping a positive outlook on one’s goals and aspirations. Rahman also took to stage for a performance.
Mersal opens in local cinemas on Deepavali, Oct 19.
