Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has announced her engagement to actor-singer Li Chen. The 36-year-old actress was proposed by Li, 38, during her birthday party on Sept 16.
Fan shared the good news with her followers on social media by posting the photos from the pink-themed event with the caption “It’s us, forever!”.
At the proposal, Li surprised Fan with a custom-made bridal doll by Canadian artist Marina Bychkova.
On her Weibo account, Fan also had this to say: “I feel that my life is complete. I don’t want the stars in the sky, just happiness in life. I am very blessed.”
Li and Fan reportedly first met on the set of historical Chinese costume drama Empress Of China in 2014. Fan is a the star of the show playing the titular character while Li was cast in a supporting role.
They have been dating since 2015. Li is known for being one of the cast members on popular variety show Keep Running, China’s answer to South Korea’s Running Man.
Fan has made a name for herself as one of China’s most popular actresses with notable roles in films like Cell Phone, Lost In Beijing and Double Xposure. In 2014, she played mutant Blink in Hollywood blockbuster X-Men: Days Of Future Past alongside Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence. Most recently, she received critical acclaim for her role in Chinese comedy film I’m Not Madame Bovary.
Fan and Li have not set a date for their upcoming nuptials.
