G-Dragon is the latest addition to this campaign in Malaysia

K-pop icon G-Dragon is the latest musicmaker to join the list of stars added to U Mobile’s Unlimited Grooves Campaign.

During the recent relaunch of U Mobile’s flagship store in Kuala Lumpur, it was revealed that the telco will be the official sponsor for the Malaysian leg of G-Dragon Act III: M.O.T.T.E (Moment Of Truth The End) concert tour, which is set for Sept 17 at Stadium Merdeka, KL.

The South Korean singer, who is also the leader of K-pop boy band BigBang, is the latest top act to be sponsored by U Mobile following Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) Malaysia Tour, which will be taking place at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil on Nov 14.

“U Mobile has always made music key to our offerings as it is something that many of our customers are passionate about,” said U Mobile’s chief marketing officer Jasmine Lee.

“We have been aggressively coming up with ideas so that customers have the opportunity to enhance their music experience.”

The telco is now making headway into the entertainment business by bringing in the hottest names via its Unlimited Grooves campaign, which kicked off in May with Urbanscapes, Malaysia’s longest-running creative arts festival.

Upcoming shows include Good Vibes Festival (featuring artistes like Kodaline, Dua Lipa, Lany and Najwa) to be held at The Ranch, Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands on Aug 12 and 13, and the Upfront concert series (featuring international acts like Tokimonsta and Lucy Rose) to be held in KL.

Lee also shared that U Mobile will be giving away tickets to G-Dragon’s concert as well as the already sold-out Sheeran’s concert to their users.

It will be done via two Instagram contests: Unlimited Passion for G-Dragon (from Aug 18 to Sept 8) and Unlimited Passion for Ed Sheeran (from Sept 25 to Oct 27).
