Lego has just revealed the official images and details for the Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon, and it’s got us crapping bricks.
With 7541 individual pieces in total, this is by far the largest set Lego has ever made, outstripping the previous record holder, the 5922 -piece Taj Mahal, by more than 1,600 pieces.
It’s not the first time the Millennium Falcon has held the record though. The previous UCS version released in 2007 was also the largest set at the time, with 5,195 pieces.
It’s no secret that we love Lego’s Star Wars sets (check out our reviews of the Rogue One and Force Awakens sets), but we think this one will probably be THE greatest Lego Star Wars set ever made. Just look at it!
Measuring over 8” (21cm) high, 33” (84cm) long and 22” (56cm) wide, it’s not just the size of the set that got us drooling.
The entire set is highly detailed, with detachable hull panels to make for easy interior play, a movable boarding ramp, interchangeable round/rectangular sensor dishes (for those who want to switch between the Original trilogy and new trilogy).
According to the official Lego press release, the set also has intricate exterior detailing, upper and lower quad laser cannons, landing legs, lowering boarding ramp and a four-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy, which makes it easy to recreate iconic scenes from both the old and new films.
The set comes with eight minifigures in total. You’ll get Han Solo, Princess Leia, C-3PO and Chewbacca from the original trilogy; and older Han, Rey, Finn, and BB-8 from the new films.
You also get two buildable Porgs (new alien characters from the new franchise) and a buildable Mynock (remember those?) to go with those.
This year being the 40th anniversary of the original Star Wars movie, as well as the 10th anniversary of the original UCS Millennium Falcon set, this new model is also a fitting tribute to arguably THE most iconic and celebrated franchise AND Lego set ever made.
It’s not going to come cheap though – the retail price has been set at USD799.99 (RM3416.36), which also makes it one of the most expensive official sets ever produced.
The Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon will be released globally on October 1, and will be available in Lego Certified Stores nationwide, as well as on Lego’s official site.
