Have you seen It Takes A Nation To Raise A Champion?

Kuala Lumpur 2017, the brand name of the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games that will be held in the Malaysian capitol, has recently released a string of promotional videos on its official YouTube channel.

The latest are Bahasa Malaysia and English music videos of the KL2017 official theme song, Bersama Kita Lahirkan Juara/It Takes A Nation To Raise A Champion.

The song was written, composed and sung by noted Malaysian singer Mia Palencia and produced by Enfiniti Academy president Puan Seri Tiara Jacquelina. According to a post by Tiara on her official Facebook page, the duo has been working on the project for more than nine months and that the track is actually called So Many Hands.

However, the videos on KL2017’s YouTube channel are titled Bersama Kita Lahirkan Juara/It Takes A Nation To Raise A Champion instead.

Both music videos feature real-life sports heroes like Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, Pandelela Rinong, Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi and more. Some of the athletes also appear in several other promotional videos for KL2017 like Forever Our Pride and Jiwa Atlet Dalam Diri: Mohd Sharifuddin.

KL2017 carries the theme Rising Together, which, according to the official Games website, signifies “the coming of age for Southeast Asia as a community”.

The SEA Games will be held from Aug 19 to 30 while the ASEAN Para Games is scheduled from Sept 17 to 23. The KL2017 will coincide with the celebrations of Merdeka Day on Aug 31 and Malaysia Day on Sept 16.

Tickets are already on sale, and you can buy them online or from selected outlets. There are also several events which do not require tickets (yay, free!); do check the website for more information.
