One thing’s for sure: On the first and second day of Hari Raya, the house is going to be filled with family members and good friends.
From cooking up a storm in the kitchen to piling on the plates with various goodies and eating together, these are moments to be cherished.
The good times felt during Hari Raya is something that are reflected on various television shows this year. There are also a couple of heartfelt stories, to remind us to always be kind and thoughtful towards others.

Jangan Pandang Belakang

The best way to watch a horror movie is with as many people as possible and in broad daylight. That’s how Jangan Pandang Belakang should be watched because the film starring Pierre Andre (who also co-wrote the screenplay) is not for the fainthearted. A couple inadvertently releases an evil spirit when they find a jar washed up at the beach, and take it home.

Try to contain laughter as the comedians make fun of a whole lot of things.
Konsert Hati Emas Kembara 2016

This reunion concert of the 1980s folk rock band is not to be missed. It performs familiar tunes, picked from seven albums, such as Ekspress Rakyat, Hati Emas, Perjuangan, Kepada Mu Kekasih, Gerhana, Di Perhentian Puduraya, Nusantara, Keroncong Untuk Ana, Duit and Sesat Di Kuala Lumpur.
Boboiboy: The Movie

On the first day of its release, Boboiboy: The Movie earned RM500,000. In less than two weeks, it grossed over RM6.3mil, making it the highest-earning Malaysian animated feature. It earned a total of RM15.7mil by the end of its run. Now find out what the fuss is all about as you are drinking teh tarik and eating pineapple jam tarts. Yum.
Dodol Untuk Menantu

Pak Dolah is disappointed when his daughter chooses a waiter to be her husband. He has never shown affection towards his son-in-law even though the latter takes care of him when he’s ill. Seriously, what will it take for Dolah to realise he is behaving badly? Starring Saim Ali, Mimi Lana, Shamsul Ghau Ghau and Syida Melvin.
Duo Star Lagenda Raya

You don’t want to miss out on this programme as it pairs up newbies with legends like Ziana Zain, Hail Amir, Uji Rashid, Ning Baizura, Aishah and M. Nasir for a memorable duet. Tune in to the same channel and time on the third day of Raya for the second part of the show.
Kabali

The film that caused a lot of ruckus in Malaysia as it was filmed right here. Superstar Rajinikanth headlines the action-packed film. Also featuring people you might be related to (albeit in teeny roles), and more than a few national landmarks.
Panca Delima
TV2, 10pm
A Malay classic starring the late Tan Sri Jins Shamsudin, Hashimah Yon, Udo Omar and Aini Hayati. It tells of a woodcutter who has three beautiful daughters. One of them, Teratai, has a magical necklace. Meanwhile, a cursed prince – who takes the form of a snake during the day – meets Teratai one day and falls in love with her. Understandably, the woodcutter is not keen on the relationship.
Konsert Ella 2016, Part One

Watch as the local queen of rock entertain her fans at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam with her hit songs through the decades. On stage with her is guitarist Man Kidal, as well as some of her celebrity friends who join her for duets.
