Watch GoAsean programmes on dimsum and tonton

GoAsean’s travel programmes will be made available on video streaming services, dimsum and tonton, beginning next month.

The Asean-centric travel channel just announced its partnership with dimsum, a subscription video-on-demand (VOD) service by Star Media Group, and the Media Prima-owned tonton at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market.

This means subscribers can view over 60 hours of GoAsean’s original content highlighting the breathtaking wonders across the 10 Asean countries.

“We are pleased to partner with GoAsean as we continue to grow our content offerings. As we move forward, the partnership will enhance our travel and documentary genre on dimsum,” says Lam Swee Kim, chief marketing officer of dimsum, in a press statement.

Having GoAsean’s programmes on dimsum will broaden its appeal to audiences as Mandarin subtitles will be provided. The Eco Traveller, for instance, presented by Asia’s Got Talent host Rovilson Fernandez, can be streamed with Mandarin subtitles on dimsum.

Zefny Idris, GoAsean vice president of brand, adds: “As GoAsean serves as a window to showcase the diverse culture, sights and sounds of South-East Asia, we look forward to expanding our audience reach through our strategic partners, dimsum and tonton as we continue promoting South-East Asia as a preferred tourism destination together.”

Zefny also shares the reason behind its move to show GoAsean programmes on streaming platforms.

“As a content producer and provider, we constantly need to be sensitive to the way media is being consumed and be fluid enough in gravitating towards providing great offerings to where people are hungry for these content.”

Currently available in Malaysia and Brunei, dimsum subscription is priced at only RM15 a month and all new members will enjoy 30 days of free trial access.
