Suria FM jams with the people

Come experience a twist on busking culture, and meet your favourite artistes with Suria FM’s Suria Jam!

The concept of the show revolves around getting popular artistes to perform open-air gigs in public spots around Kuala Lumpur, singing their most popular songs, as well as covers.

The performances are filmed and uploaded to the official Suria FM website (www.suriafm.com.my), and can also be viewed on Facebook (http://ift.tt/2leCzCB) and the SuriaTV YouTube channel.

Since it began in mid-January, Suria Jam has already gained a large following thanks to performances by the likes of Amelina, Azaharina, Khai Bahar and Haqiem Rusli.

“We have over 10,000 views after only six episodes of Suria Jam were uploaded to Facebook and YouTube, and we expect the number to increase when more popular artistes’ videos are uploaded next,” said Suria FM head of creative content, digital and brand management, Ahmad Shaifullizam, better known as GBam.

While street busking has always been associated with short performances, Suria Jam’s unique concept gives audiences a different experience, as it resembles a larger scale open concert, with the artistes accompanied by professional musicians.

“This show not only brings us closer to our listeners, it also gives the artistes a chance to get close to their fans,” said GBam.

There are more Suria Jam recording sessions coming up this weekend. Tomorrow, head to Dataran Orang Buta (Masjid India) to catch Hafiz Hamidun (1pm) and Ameng Spring (3pm).

On Sunday, catch De Fam (1pm) and Forteen (5pm) at the KL Sogo grounds.

And finally, on Monday, you can watch Siti Nordiana (1pm) and Akim And The Majistret (3pm) in action at LRT KLCC/Avenue K.
