988 unveils exciting new shows

A new splash of colour is coming to 988 come March 1, as the local Chinese radio station will be unveiling a brand new line-up with even more informative and insightful programmes.

“With a few of our announcers going on hiatus, 988’s programming has undergone a revamp which includes the introduction of a new face along with several new segments that promise to surprise and wow listeners each time they tune in to the station,” explained Timmund Lim, 988’s general manager.

The new lineup kicks off with DJ Chloe Low presenting Stand By You, a programme that is set to air from 10am to 1pm, Mondays to Fridays, taking over from DJ Hao Min, who is going for a well-deserved long break. Joining DJ Chloe on this mid-morning segment is the newest addition to the 988 team – multi-talented award-winning local singer-songwriter Danny One.

Meanwhile, DJ Cheryl Lee will host a brand new programme called Count You In with DJ Jason Poon, replacing the current drive-time show from 4pm to 7.30pm.

DJ Cheryl’s return to the drive-time segment is a bittersweet affair as it also marks the departure of both DJ KK Wong and DJ May Lau, who hosted the previous evening drive-time programme Good Show together with teammate DJ Jason Poon for more than three years.

All good things must come to an end, as 988 bids farewell not only to the two DJs, but also to the programme itself. Lim added, “We would like wish DJs KK and May all the best in their future undertakings, as well as DJ Leaf, who is also leaving.”

Speaking of DJ Leaf, his new programme Night Chat H2H will be replacing DJ Piao Ming’s Pasar Malam show from 8pm to 10pm, Mondays to Thursdays. H2H can stand for anything, from “Heart-to-Heart” to “Here-to-Help”. The show will feature a different guest each night, who will be invited to talk about anything and everything, ranging from life issues to college conundrums and other current topics affecting the younger generation these days.

Then, from 10pm, Night Chat will continue with DJ Piao Ming keeping night owls company till 1am.

Last but not least, DJ Cassey Soo invites pet owners and animal lovers alike to join her on Hello! Pet Talk, a new programme on Saturdays from 4pm to 5pm, where she will be sharing pet care tips, pet-related stories and other interesting things about your furry friends.

Tune in on March 1 and let the brand new 988 lineup fill your day with colourful new sounds!
