Milla Jovovich returns as Alice in Resident Evil flick

We first meet Alice in the 2002 film Resident Evil, an innocent employee of Umbrella Corporation. When the Umbrella Corporation caused a zombie apocalypse, Alice is determined to find out her role in this fiasco.

Now, in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Alice makes a few major discoveries. In an interview transcript provided by Sony Pictures, Milla Jovovich – who portrays Alice in all six Resident Evil movies – says the character is somewhat idealistic, but also angry. “I think that part of her anger and commitment to taking down the Umbrella Corporation is really because she feels strongly that she had something to do with this disaster. So there is guilt in her too. In a lot of ways – throughout the series – she’s always had this isolationist anger and a sort of self-hatred.”

What is undeniable about the character, however, is just how strong Alice is. Playing such a role, the 41-year-old actress states, is a privilege. “I never considered myself to be a strong woman growing up. I was always really goofy and crazy when I was younger, and didn’t really feel like much of a role model … So it makes me feel amazing to think that I may have had a little bit to do with inspiring another woman to take control of her life and ride that car into her own personal horizon.”
