New trailers: Spider-Man, apes, and fast drivers

War For The Planet Of The Apes

Twentieth Century Fox has released a new trailer for the next installment of the Planet Of The Apes franchise, which pits the leaders of the apes and humans against each other in an epic face-off.

In the two-minute trailer for War For The Planet Of The Apes, humans and apes draw their weapons in a battle that will determine the fate of both their species.

“I did not start this war,” says Caesar in the opening scene.

“I offered you peace. I showed you mercy. But now you’re here to finish us off. For good.”

For his part, the Colonel justifies war by saying, “This is our last stand. And if we lose, it will be a planet of apes.”

The film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller and Terry Notary.

Spider-Man Homecoming

The first official trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming was released on Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently, giving audiences a peek at the film headlined by Tom Holland.

In the two-minute trailer Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) offers up advice to Peter Parker, who is on the cusp of realizing his full Spidey senses potential, with the usual humor-laced arrogance that makes Stark so endearing.

Holland portrays the misfit high-schooler eager to prove himself a hero, who faces off with Michael Keaton’s villainous Vulture. Marisa Tomei plays Aunt May. Both make brief, passing appearances in the trailer.

The Fate Of The Furious

It’s “bombs away” in the action-packed first trailer for The Fate Of The Furious, the eighth installment in the Fast & Furious series, that debuted Dec 11.

Charlize Theron makes her debut as the franchise’s new villain in the trailer, appearing to taunt Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto.

“You know what I like about you, Dom? You’re a genuine outlaw. But your family is about to go up against the one thing they can’t handle: you,” she says. “Did you ever think you would betray your family the way you did today?”

In the movie, Dom and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are on their honeymoon, and the rest of the crew has been exonerated, finding a semblance of a normal life. But when Theron’s character seduces Dom into a world of crime he can’t seem to escape, the family will face a new set of trials.

“I don’t know if the old Dom is in there,” says Dwayne Johnson in the clip. “I don’t give a damn. I’m taking you down, Toretto. Let’s play.”

Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, and Ludacris will be reprising their roles as well, joined by franchise newcomers Helen Mirren and Kristofer Hivju. Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray directs.
