Walt Disney Pictures have just released eight new character posters for its upcoming film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The posters each show a close-up head shot of a character, with blueprints of a ship printed across their faces. The characters include Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor of the Rebel alliance (Diego Luna), Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen), Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).
Of the eight, one is a bad guy while K-2SO is … not human.
All the posters are posted on the official Star Wars Twitter account and each tweet comes with a short description of the character. For example, Jyn has “a checkered past, a greater cause”, while Chirrut is “a warrior monk with faith in the force”. A new Rogue One trailer has also been unveiled.
The official synopsis from Lucasfilm reads: “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.”
The movie is set for a release on Dec 15.
