Popular Korean TV show Running Man is about to lose one of its top members.

Kang Gary, who has been on the variety show since 2010, is set to leave Running Man very soon. In fact, Gary’s last filming day with the cast is said to be on Oct 31.

According to reports, the show’s producers confirmed the news on Oct 25, saying that Kang Gary, known simply as Gary, had expressed his plans to leave earlier this year. However, cast mates and other crew members had managed to stall him; until recently when he told producers that he wanted to concentrate his music career.

Running Man producers were said to have issued this statement: “We sincerely thank Gary for putting everything into the show for (six) years, as one of the original members of Running Man. Gary wishes to focus on his career as a musician, and we wish him the best.”

Gary, 38, is one half of successful hip-hop duo Leessang. He is also a solo artist, having released his debut EP, Mr Gae, in 2014. His full studio album, 2002, was released last year.
