Where Is The Love? 2.0 is the song you need to listen to today

International pop group The Black Eyed Peas has released a remixed version of its hit song Where Is The Love? as a poignant response to the many tragedies that have taken place in the US and all over the world this year.

The original track, from The Black Eyed Peas’ chart-topping album Elephunk (2001), was a response to the 9/11 attacks in New York in 2001. It was released as a single in 2003.

The new remixed version is called #WHERESTHELOVE and features “the World”, which is not a single band or artiste but a collection of people who are either involved in or affected by the many conflicts happening around the world today.

Based on the music video, the song seems to be fronted by Will.I.Am but bandmates Apl.De.Ap, Taboo and Fergie appear towards the end. Also in the video are Mary J. Blige, Diddy, Quincy Jones, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilmer Valderrama, Jayden Smith, Tori Kelly, Nicole Scherzinger, Usher, Shailene Woodley, Omarion, LL Cool J and more. Justin Timberlake, who co-wrote in the original track, is also on #WHERESTHELOVE

In a short video, Will.I.Am says: “I remember when the attack in Paris happened, people would say, ‘We need Where Is the Love? again’. And then Belgium happened, and then Turkey, and then Orlando, and then Philando (Castile), and then Alton (Sterling) before him, and then Dallas. Everyone was calling on us like, ‘We need that song again’.”
