The Olympics on HyppTV and RTM

HyppTV’s eight dedicated Olympics channels are available for all Malaysians for free as long as they download the HyppTV Everywhere mobile app.

HyppTV subscribers will be able to view the eight channels on their TV sets, on top of watching them on the HyppTV Everywhere app.

TM New Media executive vice president Jeremy Kung said in a press statement: “In line with TM’s Team Malaysia initiative, HyppTV shows support to our national athletes by providing viewers non-stop free “live” coverage and exclusive Rio 2016 content.”

HyppTV’s Olympics coverage has already begun on seven HyppSports HD channels (Ch 720 to 726) and an interactive channel, Rio 2016 Interactive Channel, and will end on Sept 2.

The Olympics opening ceremony will air live tomorrow at 6.50am and the closing ceremony on Aug 22, 6.50am on HyppSports HD (Ch 720, 723 to 725).

For RTM viewers, TV1 will be airing the opening and closing ceremony live tomorrow at 6.15am and Aug 22 at 6.30am respectively. Both TV1 and TV2 have also allocated a number of programming slots for the Rio Olympics every day, from Aug 7 to 21.

TV1 will be airing highlights of the sporting events daily at 10am to 12.30am, and 2pm to 5pm (Fridays at 2.30pm), while daily reports from the Rio Olympics will air at 7pm to 8pm and 1am to 6am.

TV2 will air highlights of the opening and closing ceremony tomorrow at 4pm to 6pm, and Aug 22 at 4pm to 6pm respectively. Its Olympics programming belt comprises daily reports at 1am to 10am and highlights of the sporting events at 5pm to 6pm. – Kenneth Chaw
