Malaysia’s biggest rock festival Rockaway returns with Butterfingers, Scorpions, Wolfmother

Are you ready to rock? Rockaway 2016, Malaysia’s biggest rock festival ever, returns after three years with a lineup of over 30 international and local acts, including Scorpions, Wolfmother, Butterfingers, Wings, Taking Back Sunday and Third Eye Blind!

This year’s Rockaway will be separated into two segments – the Rockaway Weekender on Oct 29 and 30, and the festival proper on Nov 19.

The Rockaway Weekender is essentially a mini festival with Scorpions headlining on Oct 29 accompanied by Malaysian veteran rock group Wings and Muzza’s Mayhem; and Australian metal band Wolfmother taking the stage on Oct 30, accompanied by local acts like Artefacts, WTNSS, Daarchlea and others.

The festival proper on Nov 19 will be held at the Bukit Jalil Extreme Park, Kuala Lumpur, and will be headlined by arguably Malaysia’s most iconic alternative rock band, Butterfingers, who is making its comeback eight years after their last album, Kembali, just in time for their 20th annivesary.

International bands lined up for the festival include alternative rock band Third Eye Blind (best known for hits like Semi-Charmed Life and Jumper), Taking Back Sunday and The Get Up Kids.

On the local front, Malaysian legends Alleycats, Zainal Abidin, Hujan x OAG, One Buck Short, Lume, Prana and many more are set to perform.

The best part is, this is only the first phase of announcements of the lineup, so there could be even more acts to follow.
