E! has unveiled the first trailers for the cabler’s newest shows: Their second scripted drama, The Arrangement, and a reality series that revolves around Mariah Carey, titled Mariah’s World.

Mariah’s World will take viewers into Carey’s private life, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her “Sweet Sweet Fantasy” tour. The eight-part event series will also focus on Carey’s wedding to Australian business mogul James Packer.

“I’m not Cinderella, my life has not been a fairy tale. Forget the image, forget the rumours. I owe this to the fans,” says Carey in the trailer.

According to Carey “she’s just like everybody else”. The series showcases an intimate look at Mariah’s day to day life, including her refusal to take off her sunglasses in fluorescent lighting, which she admits is “very 1990s” of her.

The Arrangement follows Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista), a beautiful young actress who auditions for the female lead in a summer blockbuster playing opposite Kyle West (Josh Henderson), one of the world’s top movie stars. Kyle’s mentor is Terrence Anderson (Michael Vartan), who runs a self-help organisation called the Institute of The Higher Mind with his wife Deann (Lexa Doig).

After Megan’s amazing audition leads to an incredible first date (and more) with Kyle, her Cinderella story takes an unexpected turn when she is presented with a contract that would change her life forever… In a town where fame means everything, Megan must decide how far she’s willing to go to launch her career and whether or not she will accept The Arrangement.

The pilot was written by Mad Men producer Jonathan Abrams. The Universal Cable Productions series consists of 10 one-hour episodes. Both shows are set to premiere later this year. – Reuters/Maria Cavassuto
