The Twilight film series catapulted Kellan Lutz’s career but what about the rest of the cast? Here’s a look at what some of its main cast members have been up to since the film franchise ended in 2012.
Some may not have taken her acting seriously during those Twilight days but Stewart is having the last laugh now, generating a lot of buzz last year for her performance in Clouds Of Sils Maria. The 25-year-old actress won Best Supporting Actress at the Cesar Awards, the French equivalent of the Oscars, making her the first American actress to do so. Look out for her in another high-profile project, working under Oscar-winning director Ang Lee in the war drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk due end of the year.
Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)
Pretty boy Pattinson drew critical acclaim for his performance in last year’s Life which chronicles photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) and actor James Dean’s friendship. He also starred opposite Nicole Kidman and James Franco in Queen Of The Desert, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. Pattinson also signed on to revenge drama The Trap starring Benicio Del Toro, Al Pacino, Idris Elba and Franco. The 29-year-old is also the face of Dior Homme.
Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)
Lautner helmed two action films 2011’s Abduction and Tracers last year which saw him doing his own stunts. In fact, the 24-year-old actor underwent intensive parkour training for the latter. He has also branched out into comedy on The Ridiculous 6 and took over the lead from Andy Samberg on British sitcom Cuckoo.
Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)
Did you know Greene played Lutz’s love interest in 2011 romance-sports drama A Warrior’s Heart? Shortly after the last Twilight movie, Greene played the daughter of the late Alan Rickman’s character Hilly Kristal who established New York music venue CBGB in the 2013 film of the same name. Greene also led the cast in 2014 horror flicks Kristy and Burying The Ex.
Peter Facinelli (Dr Carlisle Cullen)
Facinelli led the cast of horror flick Gallows Hill in 2013. On TV, last year, he was part of the main cast of political series American Odyssey, which lasted one season. Most recently, he has a recurring role in the new series Supergirl.
Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen)
Post-Twilight, Reaser has been acting in a number of theatre productions such as Conviction, The Money Shot and Permission. On TV, she played a journalist in the two-part mini-series Bonnie & Clyde and also appeared in two episodes of the final season of Mad Men. Reaser can be seen acting opposite Sally Field in the new comedy drama flick Hello, My Name Is Doris.
Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale)
Reed has recently been added as a cast member on the third season of Sleepy Hollow. Oh and last year she got hitched to Ian Somerhalder who also plays a vampire in The Vampire Diaries.
Dakota Fanning (Jane)
After Twilight, the former child star who shot to fame at seven for her performance in I Am Sam has worked on a lot of indie movies such as The Motel Life, Night Moves, Very Good Girls and Every Secret Thing. Watch out for Fanning on Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral and Western thriller Brimstone which also stars Guy Pearce and Kit Harington.
