A second trailer for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming adaptation of Roald Dahl novel The BFG sheds new light on young girl Sophie and her life both inside and away from her London orphanage home.
It’s an opportunity to glimpse something of the oversized landscapes and interiors that await Sophie, and cinema audiences, after meeting the Big Friendly Giant – aka the BFG – with Spielberg returning to the family film genre that has seen him helm Hook and E.T.
Ruby Barnhill stars as Sophie, with Mark Rylance – a recent Oscar winner for his performance in Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies – as the BFG.
International debuts beckon the week of July 1 for theaters in numerous international territories including the US and Canada, Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines, with other countries to follow through July and then September. – AFP Relaxnews
