Dead 7, a TV movie featuring boy bands and pop stars from the good old days of CDs, is premiering in Malaysia on May 1 exclusively on SyFy Asia.
Dead 7 is billed as a “boy band zombie Western” and stars (former) boy band members like Nick Carter, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough of Backstreet Boys, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSync, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, as well as O-Town’s Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller.
Apart from these musicians, other singers appearing in the movie include Frenchie Davis (an American Idol and The Voice contestant), Art Alexakis from Everclear and Jon Secada, who won two Grammys in the 1990s.
Written by Carter and author Sawyer Perry, Dead 7 tells of a group of gunslingers who are hell bent on getting rid of all the zombies that have overtaken their town. Carter stars as Jack, the reluctant hero who unites the town’s outlaws to fight the zombies.
The movie was released on April 1 in the US, with many fans thinking it was an elaborate April Fool’s joke. It wasn’t.
Dead 7 will be shown on SyFy HD HyppTV Ch 611), at 10PM.
