Singer Aliff Aziz to wed after Hari Raya

Singer Mohamad Aliff Aziz aka Aliff Aziz is set to wed the woman of his dreams Bella Astillah after this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri in July.

However, Aliff, 26, says that both sides of the family have yet to set a date for the wedding.

“God willing if there are no obstacles, we will be united as husband and wife after Hari Raya but we don’t have a date now. However, we have started making preparations as we don’t want to do it only at the last minute and thank God, as of right now, 40% of the preparations are done,” Aliff told mStar Online.

Aliff was speaking to reporters during the launch of Anugerah Pilihan Online 2016 (APO 2016) in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The inaugural awards show by the Star Media Group Berhad aims to recognise personalities from various fields who are also active in the digital world.

Jointly organised by the group’s Bahasa Malaysia portal mStar Online and radio station Suria FM, with sponsorship from Malaysian beauty company Dnars, APO 2016 features as many as 18 categories that celebrities can be nominated in. This includes nine entertainment categories, three sports categories and five lifestyle categories.

Aliff and Bella were engaged last December. Aliff says he isn’t hoping for any sponsorships for his wedding but is open to it if there are parties who wish to do so.

He explains that the most important thing for the couple now is that the akad nikah (wedding ceremony) and reception go as smoothly as planned.

“The plan is to have a reception in Kuala Lumpur and smaller receptions in Singapore and Sabah. When it comes to sponsorships, we’re not hoping for it but if there is, it’s a blessing for us both,” he reveals.

Aliff, who was born in Singapore, has already earned a nomination for Best Male Singr in APO 2016. He says he sees it as a blessing but doesn’t expect to win, adding that the awards show is a way to boost the local entertainment industry and recognise local artistes.
