Harry Potter concert series is happening … but not in Malaysia

An upcoming concert series promises to bring new meaning to the concept of surround sound, when fans will be able to watch the Harry Potter movies accompanied by a live orchestra.

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series will reformat each Harry Potter film bringing in a live orchestra to play the score in synchronisation with the film, reports Variety.

The film itself will be projected onto a high-definition 12m screen.

The North American tour will begin with Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone this summer, kicking off in Philadelphia.

The concert series is produced by CineConcerts and Warner Brothers who have orchestrated similar concerts for films such as Gladiator, The Godfather, It’s A Wonderful Life, Breakfast At Tiffany’s and Star Trek.

The North American Harry Potter tour will be accompanied by the San Diego Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Pops and Symphony Silicon Valley.

The Philadelphia premiere is scheduled for June 23 and tickets go on sale Feb 20 through Ticketmaster. – AFP Relaxnews
